Our Investment Team

Peter Durbin is the Chief Investment Officer and Managing Director. He has over 37 years of experience in the Financial Services industry. His investment industry experience includes stockbroking, investment management, equities research, and portfolio construction.

Peter has a solid understanding of superannuation, equities, income-bearing instruments, financial planning, and property trusts. The majority of his career has been with Morgan's Financial as a branch manager and providing advice to a large and diverse client base.

In 2018, Peter formed Oracle Advisory Group (now Count Wealth), which has 14 office locations across three states and over 150 employees.

As Head of Research and Australian Equities Portfolio Manager, Luke oversees the investment team and works alongside them in managing each portfolio. Luke is responsible for the strategic direction of each portfolio and ensures that each portfolio adheres to our investment philosophy.

Using a quality framework, Luke seeks profitable and growing companies that are likely to continue compounding earnings for many years. He applies a valuation framework to understand and compare to market expectations and uses his long-term orientation to his advantage in a market that is increasingly short-term.

Luke holds a Bachelor of Business (Management) from the University of Newcastle and a Master of International Business from the University of Sydney. He has also successfully passed Level 1 of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) qualification at the CFA Institute and looks forward to the challenge of Level 2. Outside of work, Luke enjoys the challenge of long-distance running and exploring the Australian countryside with his young family in their caravan.

Johan Snyman is a Portfolio Manager managing the International Portfolio. Johan has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, having worked in South Africa as a sell-side analyst covering Technology, Electronics, Engineering and Media sectors across EMEA. More recently in Australia, he has managed a wholesale global equities fund and research of Australian small and micro caps.

Johan has a passion for fundamental research and portfolio construction. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Masters in Commerce from the University of Johannesburg, and a Diploma in Introduction to Corporate Governance from the University of South Africa. Johan has completed a Certificate in ESG investing from the CFA Institute.

Outside of work, Johan does a lot of DIY jobs around the house, if not playing model trains.

Jack is a Portfolio Manager managing the Emerging Companies and Property Securities portfolio. Jack enjoys the challenge of working in the small-cap universe. He believes small-cap investors have an edge over large-cap investors due to higher inefficiencies in the smaller companies.

Having previously worked in Healthcare Management, Jack has a particular interest in traditional healthcare companies along with health tech companies changing the way people receive medical treatment.

Jack has 3 years of experience in the finance industry and holds a Master of Commerce from Charles Sturt University, majoring in Applied Finance. Outside work, Jack is busy these days trying to keep up with his young son, enjoying time together going to the beach, playing trucks or just mucking around. Jack is also an avid fan of most sports, although he takes a particular interest in rugby league, cricket and boxing, three sports in which he has previously competed.

Ashley is a Portfolio Manager with responsibility for the Model Portfolios of External Managers. Additionally, Ashley helps to manage the Fixed Income and Property Securities portfolios.

Ashley has over 25 years of experience in financial markets. He has worked at several investment banks and brokers, both in Australia and Japan, covering large institutional clients across both Equities and Fixed income products. He was most recently an Institutional salesperson, Equities, at Ord Minnett. Prior to this, he spent 12 years at Deutsche Bank as a senior member of the Australian Equities team, and was responsible for Equity Option sales.

Ashley holds a Bachelor of Business (Finance and Marketing) from the University of Technology, Sydney. Ashley enjoys spending time with his young family when not in the office, surfing and golf when possible.

Ben Sayers is an Equities Research Analyst. His main role is conducting research on predominantly ASX-listed companies and ETFs.

Ben has over 15 years of experience as an accountant, most recently he has worked as a senior management accountant at UGL Limited. In the investment space, he has had previous experience researching and writing about ASX companies for online publications.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Majoring in Accounting and Finance from the University of Newcastle. Ben loves to spend time with his wife and two young children over the weekend and has a great passion for music and sport (of any kind).

Dominic McCormick is an External Asset Consultant with over 40 years of finance and investment experience.

Dominic started at AMP in 1985, later joining MLC (1988-1990), before moving into research roles and becoming Head of Research at Bridges Financial Services (1996-2001). In 2002, he co-founded Select Asset Management and served as CIO until 2016; the firm was acquired by OneVue in 2014. Since 2018, he has worked as a consultant. He is known for contrarian investment views, helped expose the Trio Capital scandal in 2009, at the time the largest superannuation fraud in Australian history. In 2025, he received the Contribution to the Australian Alternative Funds Industry Award.

Dominic has a Bachelor of Economics from Sydney University, a Master of Commerce (Finance) from the University of New South Wales and the Securities Institute of Australia Diploma. Outside his consulting activities, Dominic continues to manage personal and family assets, consistent with investment principles and approaches developed over his career.
